“They Will Talk About Us: The Charlton-Pollard Story†- Student/Staff Session
Date: Thursday, March 31, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Location: Science Auditorium 100
Students, faculty and staff are invited to join us for a special event featuring a screening of “They Will Talk About Us: The Charlton-Pollard Story.” Developed in conjunction with a short illustrated history, this 32-minute documentary film chronicles the origins of one of the oldest Black neighborhoods in Beaumont, Texas. The public screening session will take place at 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Dishman Auditorium.

Department of Art and Design presents: The Real Housewives of Ancient Etruria

The Center for Midstream Management and Science hosted its first webinar of 2022 on March 2, addressing “Major Issues Facing the Midstream Industry.” This webinar reflected results of the Midstream Center’s first inaugural survey on major issues facing the midstream industry published in late 2021 by CMMS.

New Electric Vehicle Charging Station on Campus
The حوإ¼½م½م Office of Sustainability is happy to announce a second Chargepoint electric vehicle charging station on campus. The new station is conveniently located in front of the حوإ¼½م½م Police Department building and is ready for use by the entire campus community!

حوإ¼½م½م names Dr. Cristian Bahrim to lead Office of Undergraduate Research
حوإ¼½م½م recently appointed Dr. Cristian Bahrim, professor of physics, as the director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. Bahrim has served as interim director of the OUR since September of 2019 and assumed the role of director in February for a term of three years.

The Center for History and Culture Fellowships Available
The Center for History and Culture invites applications for research and creative fellowships up to $5000 to support the production, curation and transmission of knowledge about Southeast Texas and the greater Gulf Coast. The CHC welcomes applications from any scholarly discipline or creative field. The application deadline is April 1.

Deprecation of legacy email protocol starting March 28
Beginning March 28, حوإ¼½م½م will no longer support certain legacy email protocols that will affect non-Outlook users such as Thunderbird. This change is intended to improve email security and is anticipated to affect a very small percentage of حوإ¼½م½م email users (0.005%). Learn more about this change and check to see if you are impacted.

COVID-19 Vaccines Available
Free COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are available at the Student Health Center to all حوإ¼½م½م/LIT students, faculty and staff. You must register for an appointment.
The Student Health Center is also offering COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible students, faculty and staff for حوإ¼½م½م and LIT campuses. Eligibility criteria can be found on the CDC website. Please fill out the registration form for an appointment.
