Multicultural Graduation Celebration

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the May 2022 multicultural candidates for persistence to graduation and their accomplishments. Please join us as we recognize our students. Everyone is invited to attend.

O.U.R. EXPO Awards Ceremony
Date: Tuesday, May 3, 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Location: Landes Auditorium
The Office of Undergraduate Research will host a ceremony to recognize the 16 awardees of EXPO 2022 conference in various research categories. Also, the O.U.R. grant recipients will receive certificates of completion of their grants and SURF 2022 winners will be recognized. Attendees are also welcome to participate .

Department of Art and Design Presents Sonder
Date: Friday, April 29, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Location: Dishman Art Museum
Íæż½ã½ã Department of Art & Design presents the Spring 2022 Senior Thesis Exhibition, Sonder, on April 29 through May 14. A student reception with light refreshments will be served from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, following commencement. Admission to Sonder is free of charge.

Pulse Release Party and Creative Writing Celebration
Date: Monday, May 2, 4 - 5:30 p.m. Location: John Gray Center
To cap off National Poetry Month, Pulse, Íæż½ã½ã's student literary magazine, is hosting a release party for its Spring issue along with a special reading of poetry and prose by our creative writers in the Department of English and Modern Languages. Open to the public.

Reducing Campus & Community Violence: Exploring Strategies to Reduce Crime in Beaumont
Date: Saturday, May 7, 2 - 3 p.m. Location: Spindletop-Gladys City Boomtown Museum
RRA presents "Reducing Campus & Community Violence: Exploring strategies to reduce crime in Beaumont." Keynote speaker is Dr. Prater, a former dean of Southeast Missouri State University who lost her son in police custody. Special guest speaker is Sheriff Zena Stephens, along with other panel speakers.

Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music Presents Guest Pianist Philippe Bianconi
Date: Thursday, May 5, 7:30 p.m. Location: Rothwell Recital Hall
Guest pianist Philippe Bianconi will perform a recital at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 5. The event is free of charge and open to the public. Works by Ravel, Chopin and Liszt will be performed. At 12:40 p.m. on Friday, May 6, Bianconi will present a masterclass for Íæż½ã½ã piano students.

My name is Ally Tywater; I am an exercise science major and soon-to-be senior on campus. As a supplemental instruction leader, I’ve made connections with students I most likely would have never met and been able to help with study strategies and motivation. I encourage students to attend SI for help studying and opportunities to connect with other students. The road to your degree may seem long and stressful, but it will be worth it! I believe in you!

COVID-19 Vaccines Available
Free COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are available at the Student Health Center to all Íæż½ã½ã/LIT students, faculty and staff. You must register for an appointment.
The Student Health Center is also offering COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible students, faculty and staff for Íæż½ã½ã and LIT campuses. Eligibility criteria can be found on the CDC website. Please fill out the registration form for an appointment.
