Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Search Presentations

Íæż½ã½ã is pleased to welcome three candidates for the position of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Each finalist will present to Íæż½ã½ã faculty, staff and students in a community forum. Updates to the candidates and schedule are as follows: Dr. Daniel Brown - May 23, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Dr. Shafik Dharamsi - May 25, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Dr. Melissa Gruys - June 1, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Community presentations will be held in Price Auditorium at the John Gray Center, Herman Iles Building. Candidates will deliver a 15-20 minute presentation followed by a Q&A session for those in attendance. SURF Kick-Off Day
Date: Tuesday, May 31, 10 - 11:45 a.m. Location: Landes Auditorium, Galloway Building
All students are invited to join the event which starts the SURF program for summer 2022. SURF Kick-off Day will give you an overview of the great research projects that Íæż½ã½ã (through the O.U.R. office) sponsors this summer. Each SURF team will give a short 5-minute PowerPoint presentation.

CMMS Expands the Portfolio of Midstream-Centric Research Papers via Midstream Information Pathfinder
Íæż½ã½ã’s Center for Midstream Management and Science has expanded the portfolio of midstream-centric research papers accessible via its unique Midstream Information Pathfinder portal from approximately 12,900 to 20,000 research papers.

Íæż½ã½ã Becky and Chuck Mason STEM Scholars Deadline
The Íæż½ã½ã Becky and Chuck Mason-STEM Summer Initiative is a paid STEM Teaching Internship Program. The goal of this program is to increase the number of well-prepared science and math teachers to serve in Southeast Texas and beyond. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 27. My name is Ally Tywater; I am an exercise science major and soon-to-be senior on campus. As a supplemental instruction leader, I’ve made connections with students I most likely would have never met and been able to help with study strategies and motivation. I encourage students to attend SI for help studying and opportunities to connect with other students. The road to your degree may seem long and stressful, but it will be worth it! I believe in you!

COVID-19 Vaccines Available
Free COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are available at the Student Health Center to all Íæż½ã½ã/LIT students, faculty and staff. You must register for an appointment.
The Student Health Center is also offering COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible students, faculty and staff for Íæż½ã½ã and LIT campuses. Eligibility criteria can be found on the CDC website. Please fill out the registration form for an appointment.
