Join the City of Beaumont in celebrating Juneteenth, held from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday, June 19 on Main Street in downtown Beaumont. This year's Juneteenth Celebration features live music, a car show, BBQ cook-off, fireworks and more.
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery. On this day in 1865, Union soldiers landed in Galveston, Texas to announce the news. Dr. Dann Brown named Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
Íæż½ã½ã President Jaime R. Taylor announced June 8 that Dr. Dann Brown has been named the university’s next provost and vice president for academic affairs, effective July 1, 2022. Brown replaces Dr. Brenda Nichols, who is retiring from the position after 21 years of dedicated service in different leadership roles at Íæż½ã½ã. The announcement follows a national search that began in February with a 14-member search committee representing faculty, staff, student government and the community.

COVID-19 Vaccines Available
Free COVID-19 vaccines (Moderna and Pfizer) are available at the Student Health Center to all Íæż½ã½ã/LIT students, faculty and staff. You must register for an appointment.
The Student Health Center is also offering COVID-19 booster vaccines for eligible students, faculty and staff for Íæż½ã½ã and LIT campuses. Eligibility criteria can be found on the CDC website. Please fill out the registration form for an appointment.
