Fall 2022 O.U.R. Conferences Workshop

Please join us for a panel discussion on how to present a poster or give a talk in the upcoming Office of Undergraduate Research conferences — 10th Annual Texas STEM 2022 Conference, held on Nov. 5, and the 9th Annual Humanities, Arts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Education and Business (HASBSEB), held on Nov. 19. Past successful presenters will share their experiences. Several awards also will be offered at these events.

National Ombuds Day

Dinners in the Fall is an annual event of multiple dates hosted by the Hospitality Administration Program in the Nutrition, Hospitality & Human Services Department. Students in the Culinary Arts program have three opportunities, Oct. 24, Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, to serve limited registered guests food on campus and gain experience.

Íæż½ã½ã names Dr. Samuel Jator as new senior associate provost for Academic Affairs
Íæż½ã½ã Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dann Brown has appointed Dr. Samuel Jator as the university’s new senior associate provost for Academic Affairs. Jator comes to the university after serving as professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Austin Peay State University for nearly a decade.

McNair Scholars Application Deadline Extended
The application deadline for the 2023 cohort of the McNair Scholars program has been extended until Nov. 1. Students who meet eligibility requirements and have a strong interest in research and preparing for graduate study are encouraged to apply by visiting www.lamar.edu/mcnair/application.html.
