Center for Resiliency to Host Another Citizen Lecture Series

Join us for an event featuring the Southeast Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, a humanitarian association discussing their mission to provide efficient disaster relief through collaboration with government, non-profit partners and volunteers. A brief Q&A will be available after the lecture.

Interested in an Interdisciplinary Writing Pedagogy Workshop?

Faculty members with an interest in a pedagogy workshop on scaffolding writing in course design, or, put simply, "effectively support student writing in any discipline, email your thoughts.

Tuition-Free STEM Camp in June for Qualified Students
Date(s): Monday, June 19 - Friday, June 23, and Monday, June 26 - Friday, June 30, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Location: Check in at Texas Academy
The STEM camp will be led by Íæż½ã½ã faculty, Texas Academy and Honors College students. There will be hands-on activities in STEM, leadership and problem-solving recreation and college readiness workshops. Any student over the age of 14 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is welcome. End of Fiscal Year 2023 Deadlines Established
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 ends on August 31, 2023. Financial Services has established the following deadlines for processing transactions against current FY23 funds to ensure the university’s business is conducted in full compliance with state laws and policies. This also helps establish purchase orders/contracts/payments/travel/payroll/inventory applications for the start of FY24. These deadlines are established to enable staff to better manage the increased year-end workload. We ask that departments adhere to the deadlines to the best of their ability.

Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Students Inducts New Members from Íæż½ã½ã
The Beta Xi chapter of Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Students inducted 19 new members, including nine faculty and staff and six students from Íæż½ã½ã. Chapter members named Dr. Jaime Taylor as Honorary Member of the Society and Dr. Dann Brown as Honorary Member of the Chapter. Dr. Lynn Maurer and Dr. Mustapha Jourdini received distinguished member recognitions.

Dr. Young Receives 2023 Theodore Creighton Award
Dr. J. Kenneth Young was named the recipient of the 2023 Theodore Creighton Award, which is given by the Council of Professors of Educational Leadership in recognition of members' contributions to the field and the profession through scholarship and innovation.
