End of Fiscal Year 2023 Deadlines Established
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 ends on August 31, 2023. Financial Services has established the following deadlines for processing transactions against current FY23 funds to ensure the university’s business is conducted in full compliance with state laws and policies. This also helps establish purchase orders/contracts/payments/travel/payroll/inventory applications for the start of FY24. These deadlines are established to enable staff to better manage the increased year-end workload. We ask that departments adhere to the deadlines to the best of their ability.

Hale honored with David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award
Dr. Regina Hale, associate professor JoAnne Gay Dishman School of Nursing and Director of Undergraduate Research and Student Success, has been awarded the David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award. Annually, the David J. Beck Teaching Excellence Award, established though a gift from Íæż½ã½ã distinguished alumnus David J. Beck, rewards one faculty member who excels as a teacher or otherwise brings significant honor to Íæż½ã½ã through innovative instructional pedagogy. The award carries with it a check of $25,000. Hale has served Íæż½ã½ã for 18 years as a nurse educator.

Titus Named VP for Strategic Initiative and Community Relations
Íæż½ã½ã is pleased to announce Dr. Freddie Titus as Vice President for Strategic Initiative and Community Relations. He currently serves as the Interim Vice President, Diversity, Inclusion and Community Relations. In addition to his experience as an educator at Íæż½ã½ã, Titus has served the university as associate professor and later interim department chair for the Department of Teacher Education. Titus has proven himself to be an invaluable member of the Íæż½ã½ã community. His visionary leadership, extensive experience and knowledge of the University and its relationship with the community has reinforced the decision to appoint him.
