Academic Success Conference
Academic Success Conference on Aug. 16

Date: Wednesday, Aug. 16, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Setzer Student Center, Ballroom

Kickoff the semester with peers, faculty and staff to gain skills and strategies for success at Íæż½ã½ã. The Academic Success Conference is a great way to meet new friends and get connected to on-campus resources. Lunch is provided. The first 255 students will receive a T-shirt!

Week of Welcome to Start on Aug. 16

Dates: Wednesday, Aug. 16 - Saturday, Aug. 26

Week of Welcome is 10 days full of games, food and fun. New and returning students can connect with other students, learn about campus life and how to get involved. A list of the different events and activities is available.

Get Tips to Better Prepare for Disaster Situations

Date: Thursday, Aug. 17, 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Location: CICE Building, Training Room F

The Center for Resiliency is hosting another Citizen Lecture Series event featuring the Texas Disaster Division of the American Red Cross. Feel free to join and hear them give us disaster preparedness tips and speak about their processes of providing relief during crisis situations.

Theatre Auditions set for Aug. 18

Date: Friday, Aug. 18, 12 - 4 p.m.
Location: Íæż½ã½ã Studio Theatre

Íæż½ã½ã students are welcome to audition for fall theatre productions. The shows are "Athena" by Gracie Garner and "The Incredible Fox Sisters" by Jaclyn Backhaus. Monologues and sides provided for everyone who wants to audition. More information is available to any interested.

Dance Auditions to Take Place Aug. 19

Date: Saturday, Aug. 19, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Location: Íæż½ã½ã Dance Annex

Auditions are open anyone ages 16 and up. Works will be created by Lou Arrington, Elizabeth Amy Wright and Golden Wright. Tap dancers need to bring their on shoes. Please arrive early to register. More information is available to anyone interested.

Center for History and Culture's Fall Launch to be Held Aug. 24

Date: Thursday, Aug. 24, 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Location: Reaud Administration Building, Executive Event Space

Learn about the Center for History and Culture's work in fostering the scholarship and creativity of Southeast Texas and the greater Gulf regions. News and announcements, upcoming programing, 2024 Greater Gulf Symposium and fellowships. The reception will include refreshments.
