President's Holiday Breakfast

President and First Lady Taylor invite all Íæż½ã½ã faculty and staff to a holiday breakfast to enjoy. In the spirit of the season, please consider bringing a donation item to be sent to the Beaumont Rainbow Room, an organization that assists children as they enter into the foster system.

Crisis Preparedness: Íæż½ã½ãPD Conducts Police Scenario Training

Date: Wednesday, Dec. 13, 3 - 5 p.m.
Location: Wayne A Reaud Building parking lot

Íæż½ã½ãPD is set to conduct an active shooter training scenario on Wednesday Dec. 13 at the Wayne Reaud building and the adjacent parking lots. During this period, access to the building and surrounding parking lots will be restricted to individuals participating in the training only. Facilities Management will be replacing valves on the main chill water lines from Tuesday, Dec. 19 through Thursday, Dec. 21. Pulse Magazine
Submit to Pulse, Íæż½ã½ã's Student Literary Magazine

Deadline: Friday, Dec. 15, 12:00 a.m.

Submissions will be open from October 15 to December 15 for Pulse magazine. Submission categories include: poetry, short fiction, scholarly essays, creative nonfiction, poetry in translation, and art. Submissions are open to all students, regardless of major. $100 prizes will be given for each category. A publication release party and reading event will be held in May of 2024.

Proposed Policy Open for Lamar Community Comment

Date: Wednesday, Dec. 20, 5:00 p.m.

Íæż½ã½ã values community input and is committed to listening and reflecting on comments regarding proposed policy.

2024-2025 FAFSA Update: Mark Your Calendars

Deadline: Sunday, Dec. 31, 11:59 p.m.

The 2024-2025 FAFSA will go live by Dec. 31, 2023. Have your FSA ID and password ready, and gather personal and financial documents for you and your contributors. Additionally, don't forget to give consent for the tax data transfer to avoid a rejected FAFSA.

2024 David J. Beck Fellowship Application Deadline Extended

Date: Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024, 5:00 p.m.

The 2024 David J. Beck Fellowship application will remain open until Jan. 16, 2024. Faculty and staff are encouraged to motivate students you know to apply for this prestigious fellowship. Please visit the website for the application requirements and award information.

Íæż½ã½ã Center for Resiliency Welcomes 2024 Summit Participants

Deadline: Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, 5 p.m.

The Íæż½ã½ã Center for Resiliency hosts an annual Research Summit, and we are now accepting presentation abstracts across all colleges. We are searching for moderators, panelists and presenters. If interested, please contact Teressa Robertson via email at teressa.robertson@lamar.edu.
