Windows 11 for Íæż½ã½ã

We are excited to announce that Íæż½ã½ã will be migrating to Windows 11, the latest operating system from Microsoft, to enhance our technological infrastructure and provide you with a more seamless computing experience.

As part of this migration, all university-owned computers will be upgraded to Windows 11 over the summer months, starting May 20th. Our IT team will ensure a smooth transition process, minimizing disruptions to your work and studies.

Key highlights of Windows 11 include:

Fresh Design: Experience a clean and visually stunning interface designed to inspire creativity and productivity.

Enhanced Productivity: Take advantage of new productivity features such as Snap Layouts, Virtual Desktops, and Microsoft Teams integration for seamless collaboration.

Better Performance: Enjoy faster startup times, improved multitasking, and optimized power management for longer battery life on laptops.

Advanced Security: Benefit from built-in security features such as hardware-based security, secure boot, and enhanced malware protection to keep your data safe and secure.

Compatibility: Windows 11 is compatible with a wide range of software applications and hardware devices, ensuring that you can continue to use your favorite tools and peripherals without any issues.

We believe that this migration to Windows 11 will significantly enhance your computing experience and enable you to achieve even greater success in your academic and professional endeavors. If you would like to request a temporary hold for any devices due to software or research needs, or you will be traveling during the summer months and would prefer to update when you return to campus, please visit the IT Service Portal and search for the request titled “Windows 11 Exception Request” then complete the requested information and an IT employee will reach out to discuss the needs.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to bringing you the benefits of Windows 11 across our university community. All updates are scheduled for after hours, but if you are working on the device while the update starts, please do not interrupt the update or reboot the device. As always it is best practice to ensure all critical documents are backed up to your Íæż½ã½ã OneDrive account on a regular basis. Files stored on share folder will not be affected.
