KVÍæż½ã½ã end of year fundraising

As a nonprofit, KVÍæż½ã½ã 91.3 public radio relies on the support of its listeners, as well as underwriting, grants KVÍæż½ã½ã Fall Campaign and support from Íæż½ã½ã. This holiday season, while tuning in to your favorite NPR specials, you also will have the opportunity to support public radio.

"It's like a pie," said Shannon Harris, KVÍæż½ã½ã development director. "All of those pieces of fundraising are needed to make it work!"

KVÍæż½ã½ã hosts two on-air giving campaigns per year, one in the spring and one in the fall, as well as smaller one-day events like Giving Tuesday and soft campaigns like End of Year Giving. Although nonprofit fundraising is a 365 day a year endeavor, there are certain times of the year that "invoke" the spirit of giving. KVÍæż½ã½ã had a successful Giving Campaign this fall which was a welcomed relief after the pandemic and several recent storms took their toll on the Southeast Texas community.

"Thankfully, we are able to use our airwaves to fundraise and we're so glad we were able to participate in Giving Tuesday. It's a global movement based on the idea of everyone coming together to do good and our listeners really have a giving spirit. Without their support, KVÍæż½ã½ã would not be able to do what we do," said Harris.

The event served as a kickoff for the End of Year campaign which asks KVÍæż½ã½ã supporters to consider an additional gift to the station.

"It really is a collection of all these efforts that will make it possible for KVÍæż½ã½ã to operate successfully in the coming year and continue to provide a unique and diverse schedule of commercial-free programming," said Harris.
