Íæż½ã½ã Theatre & Dance will kick off its 2024-2025 season with a production of “Dumb Show,” written by Joe Penhall and directed by Íæż½ã½ã Theatre Department Chair Joel Grothe. The play, which explores themes of fame, power, and manipulation, will run from September 19-22 at the Studio Theatre on campus.
The production stars guest artist Jay Sullivan as Barry, a TV star whose " 15 minutes of infamy" have arrived. Believing he is about to receive special treatment from a pair of bankers, Barry finds himself drawn into a tense game of manipulation as he is pressed to reveal the truth about his off-stage life.
Showtimes for “Dumb Show” are at 7:30 p.m. from Sept. 19-21, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sept. 22. The University Theatre is located between the Dishman Art Museum and the Jimmy Simmons Music Building at Íæż½ã½ã.
