Biweekly Newscast

Íæż½ã½ãTV News is the biweekly newscast produced by students in the Department of Communication and Media at Íæż½ã½ã. Broadcast journalism students are required to pitch, shoot, write and edit news stories for each week’s thirty-minute program and online content. Production is led by student producers, directors, and crew members, which gives students practical news production experience.

Íæż½ã½ãTV News and its news reporters have garnered awards in student and professional competitions from the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association, the Houston Press Club, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Press Club of Southeast Texas.

Previous Íæż½ã½ãTV News Talent

Previous Íæż½ã½ãTV News talent and production crew members have also interned and were employed by media companies such as Black Entertainment Television (BET), CNN, Disney, ESPN, Lamar Video/Íæż½ã½ã Athletics, Spectrum News and TEGNA.

Former Íæż½ã½ãTV News talent and production crew members have worked as professionals in a number of television markets across the United States, including Austin, Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Beaumont, Charlotte, Houston, Knoxville, Memphis, New York City, San Antonio and more.

Íæż½ã½ãTV News is broadcast via Spectrum Cable on Channel 7 in Beaumont, Texas, and the exclusive online content is available daily on the Íæż½ã½ãTV News YouTube channel and the Íæż½ã½ãTV News Facebook page.
