Íæż½ã½ã

Trademarks

University departments may use, with permission from Íæż½ã½ã's Marketing Communications Department, the Íæż½ã½ã institution marks and the Íæż½ã½ã trademarks designated as "Lamar Spirit Marks" for:

  • Advertising for the department's services
  • Equipment and supplies
  • Merchandise
  • Signage
  • Websites

The Íæż½ã½ã marks may not be altered in any way and all uses must include the department's name/logo prominently. University departments are required to use licensed vendors for all products bearing Íæż½ã½ã marks.

Please review the university Visual Standards Manuals for more specific information regarding use guidelines.

Royalty Fees

University departments will not be subject to payment of the royalty fee as long as the proposed design on their merchandise makes the specific university department the predominant element of the design.

However, the use of general Íæż½ã½ã marks (Íæż½ã½ã Star, Cardinal Head, Interlocking Íæż½ã½ã, etc.) or any licensed Lamar Athletics' marks, where the university department name is not predominant to the design requires payment of the standard royalty fee by the licensed vendor.

Non-Royalty Examples:

  • A t-shirt design with "Íæż½ã½ã Office of Public Relations" on the front of the shirt would not be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
  • A t-shirt design with "Íæż½ã½ã Office of Public Relations supports Íæż½ã½ã Football" on the front of the shirt would not be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.

Royalty Examples:

  • A t-shirt design with only a general Íæż½ã½ã mark or any licensed Lamar Athletics' mark would be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
  • A t-shirt design where the mention of the university department is incidental to a general Íæż½ã½ã mark or any licensed Lamar Athletics' mark would be subject to the payment of the royalty fee.
